Hundreds of thousands of new people enter the internet daily,
with hopes of making their fortunes online. Some have heard
the false statements of how easy it is. Some may have just gone
through a financial problem, or lost their job, and are in a panic
mode because they need to earn quick income.
Regardless of their reasons, they are here, and unfortunately a
number of them will fail before the years end for a number of
reasons. This article is written to make people aware of some
of those reasons, and possibly give them direction so this does
not happen to them.
So let’s get to it and examine some of the possible reasons:
Reason - Faulty Planning:
New Internet marketers have heard the same hype we see
daily in the eMail Ads we receive, on a Program or Product
on their Websites Sales Pages. They tout that you can become
a millionaire, or at best make a 6 figure income, quickly, with
little or no effort. I suggest looking around you and on the
internet to see how many millionaires there are, and if they
truly made that money (if they have) without scamming
someone. I’m confident you won’t find many, and those of us
who are successful, and are out here doing business on the
internet and making a living, know better, but the new people
do not.
What generally happens is that they have the “sugar plumb
syndrome” in their heads, and come online with limited
venture capital, and spend what they have and look for that
ROI they were promised, and it never comes. This is because
they have believed the hype, and not done their homework.
Solution - Do the required planning:
Do your homerwork before venturing into the Internet
Marketing world. Set goals for yourself that you can easily
attain. Test the market and use baby steps by setting and
achieving reasonable goals, and build confidence in yourself
and your abilities.
Find a Niche. Look at Affiliate Programs which you can join
for Free. If an affiliate program wants you to pay to sell their
product - RUN. Be extremely careful of any MLM program
you join. My personal experience with MLM has not been
good, and I do not recommend them.
These actions allow you to confidently set goals that you can
meet. Those who set unrealistic goals often fail in Internet
Marketing because they get; (a.) discouraged, their operating
capital, is gone and they have nothing to show for it. (b.) After
paying the fee’s month after month, with no return they often
believe they cannot succeed, and they stop trying.
Don’t let this happen to you. Take time to find out what’s going
on, and then start setting goals for yourself that you can meet
easily. “Less is More”.
Reason - Which Product to Sell:
New Internet marketers often lack a unique product, that is
called a “Niche Product”. If you really want to be successful in
Internet marketing you need a unique product that you can call
your own, and are passionate about. Having a unique product
allows you to harness the power of internet marketing. Whether
it be a product you developed yourself or an affiliate program
whose product is relevant to your Niche, and will readily sell.
Solution - Do Your Research Beforehand:
Take a little time, and think about what area you want to use to
make income. It could be Internet Marketing, Information
Products, Software, Local or Special Interest products you are
passionate about.
You can use the Keyword Research programs available, and most
of them are Free, such as Google Adsense Keyword Tool, WordPot
or a number of other Free sites which will give you a list of items
and products people search for and buy online. They will show you
the search numbers for the product your interested in and give you
other sub-products which you can take a look at as possible
alternatives. Keep in mind, the higher the number, the more
competition.
If you are one of the lucky ones and can develope your own
product to sell such as Software or possibly and Information
Product, that will unleash the world of Affiliate Marketing for
you. You can then open your own affiliate marketing program
and have hundreds of marketers actively promoting and selling
your product which will allow you to multiply your efforts on a
huge scale. “Information Products are HOT right now”.
Reason - Having Low Passion and Commitment:
A number of New Internet marketers often lack the passion and
commitment to success. To be successful in Internet marketing
you have to make a commitment to becoming successful, and be
passionate about it. Develop a schedule and set time aside each
day for your Internet marketing activities and, more importantly,
make sure you do those activities each day without fail.
Solution - Look Where Your Passions Are:
Although you hear it’s easy to make money on the internet, I’m
here to tell you it’s not. It requires time and energy, the same as
your regular job, it’s just done on the internet instead of in an
office building.
Look at as an example, the World of Sports. When sports figures
are interviewed and asked what drives them to be great at what
they do, 9 out 0f 10 will answer that “they love what they do, and
have fun at it”. The same applies to Internet Marketing or any
other activity you do. If not it’s a chore and you need to look at a
change.
You cannot expect to achieve success in Internet marketing if you
can’t commit yourself to doing the very things that you need to do
to be successful each and every day, and do them with passion,
without exception. “It’s that important”.
Reason - Not Putting Things In Order:
New Internet marketers get caught up in the things to be done. It
is imperative that you know what kind of gifts you have, and are
good at. The Big Mistake that countless Internet marketers make
is trying to do everything themselves, and fail miserably at it
because they don’t have the knowledge or education to accomplish
a given task.
They are first told they need a website, and knock out graphics to
succeed. That doesn’t help if you cannot design a website or do your
own graphics creation.
And, not many New People have those creative abilities.
Solution - Look For Items Which Provide What You Need:
With the advent of Web2.0 all of that has changed somewhat. You
can no longer provide a static website and hope that flies. Web2.0
requires that you communicate with your customer and give them
the ability to do the same. There is an answer to this dilemma though.
You can become a Community Partner at a New Network called
Cagora. There is only one partner allowed for each community so
you can be assured that no one else can claim that Niche. Each
community is Web2.0 compliant. You can choose from 10000
Local Worlds or one of the 15000 Special Interest Worlds, and
they come with a money back guarantee. And, are a one time
out of pocket expense.
Each community comes with Forums, Blogs, Reviews, Articles,
Polls, Videos, Photos as well as Voice and Text Chat rooms where
you can hold webinars or meetings. They’ll attract a large group
of people who will be interested in their passions, and yours.
Cagora is unique to Web2.0, and the Social Networking Sites, and
they go beyond them. They offer a truly one stop network.
Cagora Community Partners
You won’t believe how inexpensive it can really be in the long run,
and how fast it will all come together for you. You can also take the
time to learn for yourself, and get Free Help from the membership
at Cagora. That’s how I did it! It took me a short period of time
before I became somewhat competent at it, and I’ve been at Internet
Marketing for 9 years, and I’m still learning things.
Reason - Not Applying The KISS Principle:
New Internet marketers for whatever reason just kill themselves
with details and setting plans. If you want to be a success at Internet
Marketing, you will have to put a plan into action. But, don’t examine
and formulate it to the point of becoming an itellectual cripple. Once
you’ve got your plan, put that plan into operation. You can always
adjust or add to it after the fact.
Some people come up with a great idea, develop a plan, and then
never put that plan into action because they constantly change that
plan - ad nauseum. Remember KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). It is
at this point you become a cripple by your own devices. This is not
to say that your marketing plan doesn’t need careful consideration.
It does, but, not to the point of inaction.
Solution - Put your Plan Into Action:
At some point the creative juices must stop, and the action must
begin. You cannot be afraid to take that first step. Once you do you
will be amazed at how much easier each successive step becomes.
To sum it up, you might be asking yourself why you should follow
these suggestions. And, that’s a fair question.
There have been a number of marketers have made each of the
mistakes I’ve described above, including myself. We have learned
a great deal from those mistakes.
This was offered so that you could also learn from these mistakes,
and possibly achieve your goals quicker than we did.
The choice is yours.
